Filter servers

Filter servers are servers running the Prism web filter.

Cloud filter servers are servers in the cloud, hosted by Prism.

On-site filter servers (also known as on-site appliances) are servers located on-premises for a business network. See the network lockdown docs for more information on these.

User interface#

All filter servers have a basic user interface available to filtered devices. It can be accessed at https://myproxy.prismfilter.dev. If you see any errors when trying to access this, your internet traffic is likely not being routed through a Prism filter server.

Configuration sync#

After making changes in the configuration dashboard, the new configuration must be synced to the relevant filter server. To do so, click the drop-down button beside the gear icon in the top bar, select the filter server, and wait for the process to finish. If you are accessing the dashboard via a Prism-filtered device, you can simply click the gear icon to sync the server you are currently using.

Syncing the configuration from the dashboard will only transfer the data for policies which have changed since the last sync. Occasionally this may result in policies being out of sync. If you think this is the case, please do a full reload from the filter server's user interface.
